Artists A-Z
  Sheridan Brown
14 November – 2 December 2006

My nocturnal paintings are more than just portrayals of the night. They can be a metaphor for fear and the unknown
as well as a symbol for the silence, darkness and isolation of the night.

Light and drama, tone and luminosity provide the source of inspiration for my paintings.

A fascination with both natural and artificial light, especially through the influence of street lights and the way they
open my vision to ambiguous impressions of the nocturnal landscape.
