  Juris Cerins
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3 – 21 February 2009

The works in the forthcoming exhibition opening on 3rd February, 2009, broadly fall into two categories. All the gouaches and some oils are the outcome of time Cerins spent early this spring at Fowlers Gap, a working arid zone sheep station some 120 kilometres north of Broken Hill.

The remaining oils are responses and interpretations of Cerins home environment where the Otways meet the sea.

Cerins’ work explores ideas associated with memory and landscape. The images and symbols in his work inform and ascribe values to the landscape. The work evokes these values in a poignant and buoyant manner.
